About the festival

Early music festival Börzsöny Baroque Days organised for the fourth time in 2007 by Consort Music Foundation, takes music ensembles of international level to picturesque villages at the foot of the Börzsöny Mountains in the north of Hungary. This year the festival is made even more attractive by inviting a world-famous English music group, The Hilliard Ensemble. Other performers of the Börzsöny Baroque Days are outstanding representatives of Hungarian music life. By this, Börzsöny Baroque Days can be a most significant series of events in the region, which connects the towns and villages of the Danube Bend and Börzsöny with its programmes spanning from Vác to Nógrád.

Music lovers can enjoy five highly promising concerts during Börzsöny Baroque Days at four different venues: the beautiful villages of Szokolya and Nógrád at the heart of Börzsöny, Kismaros in the Danube Bend, and the baroque town of Vác, which is the cultural capital of the region.

We feel that our festival plays an important part, filling cultural gaps in the region. With its concerts of high artistic standard and international level it will be a remarkable final event of the Hungarian cultural life this summer.
