Performing

Márta Ábrahám (Photo: Csaba Dömény)Beginning to play the violin at the age of six, she has won all major competitions in Hungary as well as several international prizes. She received her master degree at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest in 1996, and also studied at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Ruggiero Ricci, at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with David Takenol. She has participated in master classes given by Lóránd Fenyves, Vladimir Spivakov and Nathan Milstein. Márta Ábrahám has given concerts throughout Europe. She performed in Italy, Germany, Austria, Finland, Luxemburg, France, Great Britain and Brazil. Since 1997 she has been living in Belgium and performs with major orchestras and conductors. She has given concerts as soloist with the following orchestras: L’Arco Musicale, Nouve Musiche, Prima la Musica, I Fiamminghi, the Rotterdam Young Philharmonics and the National Orchestra of Belgium. She has made several CDs and recordings. One of them was made by the Flemish Radio and another one by Philips Classics with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2005 she has been professor at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music and the concertmaster of the Hungarian Radio Orchestra.
