On-stage interview with Anna Lachegyi before the concert at 17:30—17:45 More details »
Anna Lachegyi is an active member of the early music scene in Europe, both as a viola da gamba and cello player. She was born in Hungary into a family of musicians and ever since she started to play the cello at the age of five, chamber music and early music have played a significant part in her life. She currently lives in the Netherlands where she obtained her master diploma at the Royal Academy of Music in The Hague in the class of Mieneke van der Velden and Philipp Pierlot.
She has been invited to play at various festivals in the Netherlands and across Europe, dividing her time between solo, chamber music and orchestral playing in renowned ensembles such as Ricercar Consort, Hespérion XXI with Jordi Savall, Netherlands Bach Society or Orfeo Orchestra.
Next to her career as a performer, she is a devoted teacher as well, regularly giving master classes on both the viola da gamba and baroque cello in Hungary and Romania.
Born in Hungary, Lúcia Krommer obtained a diploma with distinction in Budapest in 1996 for cello , viola da gamba and chamber music. She perfected her viola da gamba skills with José Vázquez at the University of Vienna, with whom she regularly performs as a duo. She taught viola da gamba, baroque cello and chamber music in the early music department of the University of Brno from 2002 to 2006, as well as in numerous summer academies in France, Spain, Great Britain, Czech Republic and Hungary. She tours throughout Europe with baroque cello and viola da gamba as a soloist and member of numerous baroque ensembles, including the Orpheon ensemble, for concerts as well as recordings.
After studying the classical guitar in Budapest, Igor Davidovics dedicated his career to early instruments, such as the lute, baroque guitar and theorbo. He successfully completed his specialisation at the Civica Scuola di Musica in Milan and the Konservatorium der Stadt Wien with professors Paul Beier and Luciano Contini. Since then, he has been performing with major early music orchestras of Eastern Europe, such as the Croatian Baroque Ensemble, the Orfeo Orchestra and Aura Musicale. Together with the soloists Simon Standage, Hervé Niquet and Stefano Montanari, he has performed successful concerts dedicated to early music. Over the years he has made several records under the Hungaroton label.
