It is our ambition to show not only the Western European music culture of the baroque era, but the music born on Hungarian land in the same period, which is completely different but constitutes a valuable part of the baroque culture. It is the so-called “historical songs”, the songs from the era of Rákóczi’s War of Independence and the religious chants from the Hungarian Baroque. Bard Ádám Buda was our guest at our former festival, Nógrád Baroque Days in 2004. He presented us with an unforgettable evening among the ancient walls of Nógrád Castle then, and this year he performs at another place of special atmosphere, at an open air venue in Magyarkút, a holiday resort and popular outing destination in the Börzsöny forests not far from Verőce.
